Maurice Meyer

Farmer and globetrotter

Maurice Meyer was born on July 7, 1964, in a family of farmers, in Valff, Alsace (France). From his early childhood, Maurice has tended to be close to the nature and to reveal its secrets.

After having visited about 40 countries, Mr. Meyer cultivates biodynamic vegetables on 22 hectares and successfully manages many projects with the purpose to create a conscious and healthy society.


1985:

At the age of 21, travel to discover the world, riding his horse round France, stopping by farms and at other riders’.

1986:

Hitch-hike round North America
(USA-Canada-Mexico)

1987:

Continue his agricultural higher education and discovered organic agriculture through an internship. Then, discovered biodynamic agriculture through his friend, a biodynamic product’s consumer.

1989:

Hitch-hike trip from Strasbourg (France) to the Cape (South Africa):
Spain — Morocco — Algeria — Niger — Burkina Faso — Nigeria — Cameroon — Gabon — Congo -Zaïre — Zambia — Zimbabwe — South Africa and way back through Bulgaria.


1990:

Specialization diploma in Organic Agriculture.

1991:

Trip to Latin America
(Brazil — Argentina — French Guyana)

1991 – 1996:

Controller of organic agriculture in France and abroad

1996:

Takes over the family farm and turns it into an organic and biodynamic farm, production of vegetables and potatoes on a 22Ha surface.


1998 – 2002:

Member of the board and Secretary of the OPABA.

2001:

Takes over the regional trademark Alsace Bio

2003:

Organizes a regional Alsace organic agriculture fair Biobernai. Since that time the fair has taken place every year, with 200 representatives and about 20,000 visitors.

2011:

Starts a project to connect farmers around the world through.



2012:

Organizes a sustainable agriculture fair Agriculture of Tomorrow, 42 representatives and almost 1,200 professional visitors.

2013:

Trips to Russia, conferences about organic and biodynamic agriculture.

2013:

Launch of visits of the farm at St Blaise farm in Valff

2016:

Trip to China, lectures about organic and biodynamic agriculture
